DescriptionCommunity Action on Environment and Development (CAED) is the ENERGIA Kenya Network focal point mandated in western Kenya. (CAED) is a not for profit NGO based in western Kenya and operates in Kisumu, Siaya, Vihiga, Bungoma and Kakamega Counties. It strives to alleviate widespread suffering in the communities resulting from effects of climate change, poor agricultural production, and lack of knowledge on appropriate technology and disease. CAED’s vision is a sustainable, technologically informed, food secure and a healthy society. CAED’s mission is to empower communities physically and technologically, to improve their livelihoods and environment through participatory responsive interventions aimed at mitigating climate change and the increasing energy related poverty. CAED’s principle objective is to build capacities of communities to be able to engage in sustainable development while mainstreaming gender and HIV and AIDs in all its programmes.
